How we collect your personal information

What information do we collect
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, information about services you have requested, information from inquiries you have made, communications between us.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with
Nobody that we are aware of has access to any data you share on here. We don’t sell it or share it. If you use a link on this site to purchase something from somewhere else, such as Amazon, you’ll see their Privacy Policy.
If you contact us via this website, your information is kept on our 3rd-party providers like Hubspot, etc.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
As mentioned in the Sign-up section above, we use a third-party service called Hubspot to keep the email address and name you gave us when you signed up to receive our newsletter and blog posts. If you signed up because you wanted the free workbook, your email address and name went into the list as was described to you when you signed up. You were offered the opportunity to unsubscribe immediately, and offered to unsubscribe every time you receive an email from us. In our newsletter, there will be links to webinars, podcasts, and videos that feature Kat Figiel.
We will send you a dedicated email about a special program featuring Kat Figiel or when she publishes a new book. If you click on the links in the newsletter or these emails, your information might be held on the sites you visit. Please read their Privacy Policy to know how your information will be used.
If you use our Contact Us form, we will receive your name, mailing address and phone number so we can contact you as requested. If we keep it, it will only remain on our personal computer in saved emails, or in a manila folder documenting client interactions. Your information will not be kept in digital files that can be accessed by anyone else. If you want us to delete anything, let us know.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Our website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure your details are encrypted and securely communicated to us, safe from prying eyes or malicious threats. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol for enabling data encryption on the Internet and for helping website users confirm the owner of the website. However, we cannot guarantee that your submissions to our website, any content residing on our servers, or any transmissions from our server will be completely secure.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. However, we are not liable for any unauthorized access to this information.
We use SSL, security and anti-spam plugins. We don’t keep things on the main computer. All of our backup files are in the cloud are encrypted prior to sending them to the Cloud. Our email database is kept and protected by Hubspot.
